Approved Provider – Palmwoods State School P&C

The Parents and Citizens Association consists of parents, staff and community members and is vital to the healthy functioning of our School. The role of the P&C Association is changing with more and more collaborative decision making taking place. The P&C encourages a good cross-section of our parent body, school staff and local community to become active members.

Palmwoods State School P&C manages the Tuckshop, Uniform shop and Outside School Hours Care service.

Our vision is to ensure “Every child has every chance” in education and in life

Alisha Bubke

Qualifications: Diploma of Early Education and Care, Positive Working with Children Check, First Aid + CPR, Anaphylaxis + Asthma Training.

My core belief centers around providing every child with a nurturing and secure environment filled with love, where they can freely learn and explore their interests. I strongly advocate for creating a safe space where children are encouraged to be curious and ask questions respectfully, as this fosters their understanding of the world. Knowledge plays a pivotal role in our personal growth and in making positive changes both for ourselves and our world.

The Junior + Senior playground is an area down on the bottom oval that has a junior playground for students in Prep to Grade 3, there is also a senior playground for students in Grade 4 to Grade 6. We use this area almost every afternoon for the children to play on.

The Hall is located right next to Kids Club and is used mainly on rainy days and throughout the school holidays. This area is for children to play games, dance and build cubbies.

F-block (Undercover area)

We use the concreted area under F-block that has a few chairs for the children to sit and talk on. We mainly use this area for scootering, skateboarding and bike riding throughout the school holidays and when it is raining.

Our AstroTurf area is used for senior students in grade 4 to grade 6 to eat at afternoon tea time (2:50pm-3:15pm). Children are then able to do all sorts of activities out there such as: homework, craft and talking to there peers.

This playground is located up next to the music room, this area is mainly used by the children in prep and grade 1 of an afternoon. It is a small playground for the younger children to use instead of the junior and senior playground.

Acknowledgement to Country

We at Palmwoods Kids Club would like to acknowledge the Gubbi Gubbi people who are the traditional custodians of this land on which we work, play, learn and grow. We would also like to pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the hopes, dreams, traditions and cultures of Aboriginal Australia. Our vision for reconciliation is to create an environment that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and other Australians, and a culture that fosters equality, equity and historical acceptance of our shared history.
